The AAHGS James Dent Walker Chapter invites you, your family and friends to join us on an exciting journey in African American History on 

Saturday, December 2, 2017 for a day-long bus tour of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center and other sites on the Tubman Byway.

Experience Harriet Tubman's home, see where she was born into slavery, grew into a young woman and where she returned to rescue her family and friends.  Learn of the strength, courage and determination of this remarkable woman.  Her story is our story.  Join us and see it come to life.  We will also visit various Frederick Douglas sites in Talbot County.

The tour will be led by Mr. Lou Fields, the co-founder and President of the Baltimore African American Tourism Council of Maryland, Inc.  The bus accommodates 50 people and is conveniently equipped with a lavatory, WiFi, reclining seats and electrical outlets.  Light refreshments will be provided.

The cost is $64 per person.  Lunch will be an additional cost.  The Chapter's Annual Holiday Celebration will be a luncheon at a local restaurant to be announced.


Fee: $65/person (non-refundable)

Payment: By check or cash is due by November 4, 2017.  Make checks payable to JDW-AAHGS.  Payments should be mailed ASAP to JDW Chapter, P.O. Box 2019, Washington, DC  20013.  Mail-in payments must be received by November 4, 2017.
